Well, I've managed to produce the Panzer pic for Garanmad (see left) that I'm happy with so whatever creative rut I may have been in has hopefully passed. However, after some thought, I'm not sure it was artistic block but more artistic glut! I'm fortunately very busy but the problem with being busy is that it's not always the good kind of busy! I've been working on comic art for DA customers for a while now and worried that I've become a bit of snob regarding what kind of art I do! About a month ago I received a great commission from a company here in England for lots of Wildlife illustration. It's a great earner, a subject that I'm interested in but... I'm really struggling to do it!

I'm so addicted to DA that all I want to do are more comic illustrations and submit them to my page in order to get more comic work! I've got a number of DA (and affiliated) commissions on the go that I'm really looking forward to getting my teeth into but I can't seem to nail any of 'em because I'm really busy with this Wildlife job! The problem is I'm now so into comic art that I really want to develop, learn different techniques and generally get better and although this other job is great money, it's not what I'm into at the moment. I thought that being freelance would be easy as my mantra was, "I'll draw whatever, I just love to draw," but now I'm totally confused.

Another bummer with being freelance is meeting deadlines. Before the wildlife job I'd received commissions for other work from DA which I am looking forward to and was all ready to get started. Now although these jobs from DA don't technically have any deadlines ("what's the problem then? you might say?") I do like to try and keep some sense of honour in finishing the jobs as I receive them. However, when dealing with a big company paying big money, the deadlines are shorter and generally bulldoze any existing work out of the way so I guess I might not be posting anything new for a while unless I submit sketch dumps maybe?

I guess in a twisted way, this is also an apology to those who currently have outstanding commissions that they're waiting on from me soooo...

Now that I've done Panzer for you, I'll try my damnest to get some sequential art page layouts to you.

And another thing! I'd got all these great ideas planned out for my page too! Now that I've been gifted a Premium membership I was gonna come up with my own journal skin and do a new Avatar and keep everything looking slick. Plus I've got a really cool anniversary pic in the pipeline which knowing me is gonna take ages, which is now gonna have to wait...
